Mentor: Ms. Patience Fung (Arts Manager, The Hong Kong Children's Choir)

On 2nd August, 2025, we participated in a job shadowing event for the role of an art manager. We met with Ms. Patience Fung at City Hall, where she briefed us on the day’s schedule, which involved shadowing the behind-the-scenes operations and rehearsals for a concert.
We began by observing the Hong Kong Children’s Choir rehearsal. Afterwards, we distributed souvenirs during an exchange session with the Hangzhou Choir. Our responsibilities then included assisting with front-stage setup and distributing dinner to the crew and performers. Following dinner, we handed out house programs to the audience and enjoyed the post-tour concert together.
This was a wonderful opportunity to gain insight into the music field from a different perspective. As choir members, we typically experience concerts from the stage. This event gave us the chance to see and learn about the process of organising performances, managing tours, and handling the administrative tasks involved in maintaining a choir. It greatly broadened our understanding of the music industry.
Furthermore, we were deeply impressed by the outstanding concert and grateful for the opportunity to hear such talented and highly trained professionals perform.
